Global Brigades

In the summer of 2017, Jordan went to Panama for a week with the Global Brigades. Global Brigades is the largest student movement for global health, and aims to resolve health issues and improve economic development in South America and West Africa. During her time there, she aided in setting up a 3-day clinic along with other Chapman students. This clinic provided a community access to basic health care, that they would not have otherwise had access to for years. It consisted of doctor consultations, vaccines, a pharmacy, dental care, and even health education for children and adults.

In addition to the clinic, Jordan was able to visit households within the community, and assisted in cementing walls for showers. The members of the community were more than happy to welcome her team into their homes, and took the time to build a relationship with all the volunteers. It was through this experience that Jordan was able to witness just how much the community benefited from the work of the Brigades.

After two years of volunteering as a medical brigade, Jordan is now the President of the Global Business Brigades at Chapman University, and is excited to be able to help others within her own field of study. She believes that donating her time is the best way for her to give back to communities, and is looking forward to what her role in the Business Brigades has in store.
